Donations of tissues, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes and spray Lysol are greatly appreciated as we strive to maintain a clean and healthy working environment in our technology lab.
Kindergarten students are practicing keyboard and mouse skills as they continue literacy activities on the computers. We are also beginning our integrated science and technology project as we work together to create an Animal Alphabet Book for each class. Students are brainstorming lists of animals that begin with each letter, then showing their knowledge of life science as they identify animal body parts and the appropriate habitat to include in the picture. It will take a while to finish all 26 letters, but everyone will be excited to read our books when they are published!
Third, Fourth and Fifth graders are working on keyboarding skills with Type to Learn 3. Students practice keeping their fingers on the home keys and work hard to remember not to lift their hands. It takes a while to master, but when they remind themselves that "each key has only one finger that is allowed to touch it", they begin to treat keyboarding as a sport with skills that need to be practiced. Before you know it, they might even try typing with their eyes shut!
