Hello Hart Magnet School Families,

We hope you had a wonderful winter break and we wish everyone a Happy New Year!  We learned about numerous holiday celebrations and events!

All students in Kindergarten through Fifth grade had to the opportunity to work with our new education partners, Snapology.  Snapology offers coding activities in robotics as well as engineering.  Students work collaboratively on these hands on activities and enjoy learning while having fun!

Our students in Kindergarten and First grade enjoyed an assembly with storyteller Lenka Burke, who has presented at Hart Magnet before.

Our Hispanic parent group meets every month and if you are interested in attending, please reach out to Ms. Nancy Stanton (nstanton@stamfordct.gov) or Ms. Izamar Escobar (iescobar@stamfordct.gov)

Although students just returned to school, January proves to be a busy month as well.  Kindergarten students will be visiting the Ferguson Library this week.

All grade levels will be working on activities for Dr. Martin Luther King and all students will participate in Mini Courses the week of the 22nd!

If you have a prospective Kindergarten student or knows someone who does, please be sure to have them review the guidelines for enrollment to Kindergarten here

The State of Connecticut has changed the age of enrollment for Kindergarten students!

 Upcoming dates:

  • Monday, January 15th- Martin Luther King Day, no school
  • Wednesday, January 31st- Early Release @ 1:15 p.m.

 SAFETY TIPS

  • Please be sure to stay in your car (if you are in the car line) at dismissal.  Please do not leave your car during dismissal OR try to cut the line by skipping cars.  This only delays the movement of the car line.
  •  Please be sure that when your child (ren) enters your car, they must use their seat belt or car seat. Please do not start driving until children are safely secured.
  •  If you are crossing Adams Avenue, please be sure to cross in the cross walk and follow the crossing guard’s instructions.  Please model safe tips for children by staying in the cross walk.

Thank you and have a great week!

 Sincerely,

Linda Darling
