Mission Statement

In partnership with parents and the Stamford community, Hart Magnet School provides its students with a learning environment that ensures a firm foundation in the basics and fosters respect for our diverse population. Hart focuses on technology and an inquiry-based approach to science. The theme of environmental studies allows our students to find a connection between their own community and the world in which they live, creating productive citizens and resourceful, life-long learners.

Dear Parents,

As you know, school attendance is so important to your child's educational success! The State of Connecticut reminds us that unless our students are ill, they should be attending school on a daily basis. Please continue to communicate with your child's teacher should there be an attendance issue. Thank you!

At Hart Magnet School, we implement the district curriculum with a focus on Science and Technology. Each grade level reflects a science theme so that...

  • Kindergarteners are Zoologists.
  • First Graders are Biologists.
  • Second Graders are Botanists.
  • Third Graders are Conservationists.
  • Fourth Graders are Inventors.
  • Fifth Graders are Engineers.

We expect our students to read as much as possible and use the technology programs that we have provided for them. Students may go to the STUDENTS tab to access CLEVER to log in to IXL, ST Math and Lexia. Contact your classroom teacher if you need login information for your child.

Please remember to utilize the resources of the Ferguson Library which is right around the corner from our wonderful school. As you enter Hart Magnet, our school yard habitat will continue to thrive and grow. Please enjoy the colors of our wonderful plants and the beautiful setting for our wildlife.

Students in grades 3, 4, and 5 will be taking the SBA state tests in April and May. Please check with your teacher for the specific testing schedule.
